roammate editorial is the content team behind every guide, tip, and comparison on this site. We are experienced independent travelers — people who have navigated overnight buses in Southeast Asia, negotiated guesthouse rates in East Africa, and figured out visa runs the hard way. Our collective travel spans over fifty countries across six continents.
We write under the name "roammate editorial" rather than individual bylines because our content is collaborative. Guides are drafted by the person with the most recent on-the-ground experience for that destination, then reviewed by at least one other team member for accuracy and tone.
Our editorial mission
We publish practical, honest travel advice for solo backpackers and independent travelers. Every piece of content exists to answer a real question someone has before, during, or after a trip. We aim to be the resource we wished we had when we started traveling.
