Day 1: The Best of Dubai in 24 Hours
Old Dubai — Creek, Souks & Heritage
Start early at Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood — narrow lanes with traditional wind-tower buildings dating to the 1800s. Take an abra (AED 1) across Dubai Creek to the Spice Souk and Gold Souk in Deira. The sensory overload of saffron, incense, and glittering gold is unforgettable. Grab a chai at a waterfront cafe and watch the dhow boats.
Downtown Dubai & Burj Khalifa
Metro to Downtown Dubai. Walk through Dubai Mall — the aquarium tunnel is visible free from the mall walkway. Head up the Burj Khalifa "At the Top" observation deck, levels 124–125 (AED 179 non-peak online). Lunch at one of the food courts — surprisingly affordable at AED 30–50 for a full meal with Burj Khalifa views.
Dubai Fountain, Street Food & Nightlife
The Dubai Fountain show starts at 6pm (every 30 minutes, free). Watch two shows — each is different. Walk to Satwa for dinner at Ravi Restaurant (Pakistani curries, AED 25–40, cash only) and karak chai on Al Dhiyafah Road. If you have energy, head to Dubai Marina for waterfront drinks — happy hours run until 7pm with drinks from AED 25.
